- 200g Aloe Vera Melt & Pour Base - 56%
- 1g Colour – 0.49%
- 4g Fragrance Oil – 1.95%
Equipment you need:
- Jug
- Knife
- Clingfilm
- Spatula
- Scales
- Rubbing alcohol
- Spray bottle
- Baking/parchment paper
Cut 200g of melt and pour soap into small approx. 2cm cubes
Cover the jug with some cling film.
Heat your base (melt & pour soap) in the microwave at 30 second intervals remove clingfilm and stir as melting to get rid of lumps. Do not heat your base over 68-70 degrees.
Once fully melted, spray a little rubbing alcohol to disperse the bubbles and replace the clingfilm over the top which will help prevent a skin from forming on the melted soap.
Measure around 1g of colour and add it to your base. Mix for around 1-2 minutes until the colour is fully dispersed.
Now it’s time to add the fragrance oil, you should add the fragrance oil at 60 degrees. add 4g of fragrance oil and stir if you get any bubbles forming add a spray of rubbing alcohol.
Now spray the sponge with rubbing alcohol to make it a little damp.
Place your sponge into the soap base.
Take your spatula and push down onto the sponge to allow the air inside to be displaced. This allows the sponge to soak in the soap base on release.
Repeat this while turning the sponge to allow the soap to soak in evenly.
Once you have completely soaked the sponge with the soap base, place the sponge onto your baking/parchment paper and leave to cool and dry overnight.
